We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an Agriculture Consultant to join our team at Regional Labour Hire!
You’ll be needed to provide advice to farmers and farm managers on how to improve crop or livestock production and offer solutions to problems with pests, weeds and crop or livestock disease.
You will be
responsible for:
– Vineyard operations: oversee pruning, proposing implementation of new varieties, checking forpests, disease and weeds, Implementing spray program, Harvest operations.
– Cattle operations: advising on livestock health measures, Implementing rotation program, Assist when necessary with calving.
– Sheep operation: Implementing rotation program, assist with lambing, ram and ewe selection,advising on breeding program.
– Pasture irrigation and seeding: design and installation of new irrigation, advising on pastures varieties, maintenance and fertilization of soil for best pasture production targeting sustainability.
– Planning, developing and implementing procedures to solve on farm issues and improvingproduction efficiency aiming for sustainability.
Necessary Skills:
- Must have at least two years of relevant experience
- Bachelor Degree in Agriculture
- Strong knowledge of soil media, fertilizer and chemicals
- Capacity to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
What we offer:
- Paid trial
- Full time contract
- Minimum of 38 hours per week
- Salary $80,000 per year + Superannuation
